All Hallow's Eve

Hallowe'en, or All Hallows Eve, is said to be the day when the veil is thinnest between the worlds. Our world lies adjacent to the world in which our lost beloveds dwell, this belief states, and at certain times, the membrane between us is so thin that you can see what's rubbing against us as it stands on the other side.

What are the conditions that surround us as we seek to investigate our health and wellness? For example:

Do the conditions include ignorance of our own habits, or our familial health factors?

What about our workplace--is there time to take breaks, equipment that allows us to work healthfully, support for those who might need to call and excuse themselves from their duties due to illness?

And what of our beliefs? What do we truly hold dear in relationship to health and wellness? Are these things that we must earn? If so, in what fashion might we do so? Is everyone equally deserving of methods and means of obtaining health? If not--how does an individual gain or lose the privilege? Can it be regained, once lost? (If the answer is yes, then by what process would this take place?)

Ultimately, we are best served if we maintain our flexibility around our beliefs. We can start by shining a light into the corners of our minds to determine what thoughts are present and active there...and then deciding which ones deserve the space they're using. The ugly ones are the only real goblins that most of us are likely to face on a regular basis.

Tanisia Smith is a grateful massage therapist and writer. She chose massage as a healing medium that recognizes the power of touch, values the revelation of assessment, and honors the power of habit. She believes that being stuck is not a requirement.

Baltimore Bodyworks (Goddess Bodyworks) is the bodywork division of Goddess Within, LLC. I am currently providing services (e.g., energywork) remotely, courtesy of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and looking forward to meeting with people again when it is safe to do so. That includes you!

Tanisia Smith was originally licensed to practice massage in the same year that epic fantasy writer Robin Hobb published Assassin's Apprentice, the first book in the Farseer Trilogy. Read on through the Liveship Traders trilogy, the Fitz and the Fool trilogy, the Tawny Man trilogy, and the Rain Wilds chronicles...because there will be dragons. This author writes magic and mayhem beautifully and immersively. Her work is delicious.

Since I'm out of the nerd closet, 2002 was the year when we watched the middle movie of a trilogy focusing on a cross-species group of fellows who decided to walk about a thousand miles to drop a ring into a volcano. Only some of us had feelings about it later when we found out they could have hitched a ride.

All those who seek healing are welcome at my table.
